How do kids talk with their Christmas elf?
With Ask My Elf, a parent creates the family account and sets up the elf, then your child taps the mic and talks. Their elf answers out loud in the voice you picked, in English or Spanish, and kids can type instead if they prefer. Several kids can join the same chat, and a parent PIN is needed to leave the chat screen.
Step 1: Set up your family and your elf
A parent creates the account on the web at askmyelf.com or in the App Store app for iPhone and iPad. Add your kids' names and give your elf a name. You can have more than one child and more than one elf in a family.
Step 2: Pick a voice and a look
Choose from 8 elf voices (Giggles, Peppermint, Jolly, Glimmer, Sugarplum, Zippy, Twinkle and Tinsel) and 4 elf looks. You can preview each voice in English or Spanish before you choose. Changing the voice later needs the parent PIN.
Step 3: Choose who's talking today
On the "Who's talking to the Elf today?" screen, tap each child who's joining the chat. If your family has more than one elf, you also pick which elf to talk to. The elf uses the kids' names in its replies.
Step 4: Tap the mic and talk
Your child taps the mic, says what's on their mind, and the elf answers out loud. Kids who are learning to read and write can also type their message. The elf's replies are warm and kid-friendly.
Step 5: Make it personal
Before a chat, parents can add Today's Notes and Elf Tasks. The elf brings them up in the next chat, so your elf can cheer on a good day or hand out a small mission like "Clean your room." When the chat is over, a parent PIN is needed to leave the chat screen.
